What's the quickest way to create an environment model in Revit? Exactly, by using Autodesk Forma - Here, the environment model can be generated from free data sources with just a few clicks.
Here is an example for Munich - the terrain, surrounding buildings and even trees are loaded within a few minutes:
Of course, Forma also offers intuitive modeling tools and analysis options, more on this can be found on the Forma Blog.
Today, however, we only want to send the environment model to Revit - and this can be accomplished using the following option:
The model can then be loaded directly into Revit, with various options available:
And this is what the model looks like in Revit:
The site is imported as a native Toposolid (optionally with the satellite image as material) and can be edited. The surrounding buildings are imported as a generic model.
The Revit project is also automatically georeferenced:
We need the selection of coordinate systems known from Civil 3D or ACAD MAP3D, Infraworks and Recap (...), is this or will it be integrated?
This is currently not integrated, but the Forma blog always provides the latest news and announcements: https://blogs.autodesk.com/forma/
This page also provides a simple overview of the most recently published functions:
