Last Monday, I finally had the opportunity to get to reconnect with my old passion during the Dynamo Hackathon Dynamo and to test our latest Data Exchange for Dynamo 2025 package. The result was an interesting workflow that might be of interest to some of you.
As you probably already know, the Data Exchange Connector for Revit 2026 also allows the export of room geometry - in older versions this is not possible due to the Revit API.
But what if we want to export the room geometry from Revit 2025 - or also take MEP spaces or Areas into account? No problem with the Dynamo Connector!
The Dynamo Connector is available via the Data Exchange Feedback Community as a beta and there is also a Documentation and Video tutorials to help you get started.
⚠️ Please note that this workflow is currently only possible with the Dynamo Connector for Revit 2025!
In the simplest scenario, the elements and their properties are retrieved from the open Revit project, converted and then sent to a Data Exchange:

In more advanced scenarios it is possible to transfer only certain properties to the Data Exchange, or even to update them - for example to attach values calculated in Dynamo or retrieved from other sources.
In the last step, I loaded this data exchange with the Data Exchange Connector for PowerBI in order to evaluate the room data including the room geometry in a dashboard:

You can download the Dynamo scripts for Dynamo 2025 and the PowerBI Dashboard here. Please remember that you have to create a new Data Exchange path in one of your ACC projects before executing the Dynamo scripts.

Hello,
I am interested to learn more.
