For years now, there have been several offshoots of the Revit Technology Conference worldwide, an event organized by users for users around the practical (and also the impractical / experimental) applications of Revit. Last year in September, the European RTC kicked off in Delft and I was lucky enough to be there!
At the time, I also had a small Article with a few impressions from the conference. All in all, it was a great event with many experts that you would otherwise only know from specialist articles or the blog scene. The presentations were of a very high standard and really whetted my appetite for new projects in Revit! On my return, I was so enthusiastic and full of ideas that I'm allowed to go again this year - I'm really looking forward to it and hope to meet as many of you there as possible!
This year the RTC will take place in Dublin from 30.1o. to 1.11., and until the beginning of June there are still discounted EarlyBird tickets available! You can find all information and registration details here here.
Of course, the RTC is somewhat more expensive than the Autodesk University in Germany or similar events (including conference entry, accommodation and flight approx. 1,600 €), and many will probably also ask themselves whether this investment is really worthwhile. I would definitely answer this question with a clear YES - the RTC can in no way be compared with other events in Germany and should rather be seen as an expert training course that can be put together from several freely selectable modules. In this country, experienced Revit users in particular often still have difficulties getting enough input at events and lectures, as the number of BIM and Revit experts is unfortunately still quite small. This is quite different in other countries, such as the USA, England or Scandinavia, which is why international exchange in this field is so important.
At the RTC, you can meet the world's leading experts, who you would otherwise only meet at large international events such as the AU in Las Vegas. However, the RTC offers the advantage of a manageable number of participants and has a more informal character, so that you have the opportunity to exchange ideas with all participants over the course of the three days. In any case, the conference brings a breath of fresh air into daily work and provides many new ideas and solutions.
See you in Dublin! 🙂
