Admittedly, some things in Revit are simply cumbersome. That's why it's good that you can turn your Revit into a real smart beast with the help of numerous add-ons! The great thing is - many of these plug-ins are even completely free, such as the SmartBrowser and the Cut Opening LT from plus4revit, which I would like to briefly introduce to you today.
Plus4revit (internationally known as tools4revit) offers a range of useful tools that provide numerous additional functions.
The Smart Browser is the kind of family browser you would have wished for from Autodesk: it not only provides a search and preview of the families, but also gives you an overview of the associated types and parameters before you insert the family into the project.
The Cut Opening LT is a tool for openwork planning that automatically inserts openings in walls / ceilings / roofs at locations based on the Revit clash report.
There are also paid PRO versions of both tools with an extended range of functions - and the other tools definitely deserve a look, because they can save a lot of time in your daily work with Revit.
More information, videos and documentation can be found on the official plus4revit side - and also on the Autodesk University in Darmstadt on 27.11., where you can also see the tools "live" at the plus4revit stand.
