There is a lot of news at Autodesk: today not only the newly designed website with the revised corporate identity was presented, but also the new features in the program versions 2014. Unfortunately again only on the international side, I hope autodesk.de will follow soon!
For all those who, like me, have been eagerly awaiting the new features in Revit 2014, I have put together a summary of the new features.
No official trial is available yet - at least the USA site says so: Autodesk® Revit® 2014 software will be available soon.
So what's new in Revit 2014 - apart from the new logo?
My TOP5:
- Exploded views of buildings or components
- Polygonal cutting areas / detailed views
- Specifications for angles for pipes / ducts
- Register card arrangement of several open windows
- Revised material editor
Further innovations:
ARCHITECTURE / GENERAL
- Improved / faster rendering
- Improved processing of point clouds
- Improved component list formatting
- Temporary view templates
- Possibility to offset the view line (analogous to the cutting tool, unfortunately does not create unrolled views as one might first assume)
- Dimensional chains with the option of displaying a second unit of measurement (imperial / metric)
- Improved API
- Group parameters
- Integrating CSV tables into families
- Improved handling of design bodies
MEP
- Own project template 'Sanitary'
- Own tool for the placement of end caps
- Advanced pipe and duct calculations (via the API)
- Possibility of placing ventilation outlets directly on a duct
- Improved staircase and railing options
STRUCTURE
- Improved modeling of reinforcement (e.g. rounding) and improved placement options
- Improved control of nodal points in skeleton construction
- Improved labeling of reinforcement (labeling of several components with one tag)
- Improved analytical model
